A C H K

Finished 2019
( H A C K / A H C K )
an amproprification-based performance for two electric guitars and live-electronics
duration: 40'

A C H K (since 2018) is a 40-minute performance, developed in cooperation with Thilo Ruck und Timm Roller, for two electric guitarists and one electronics performer placed between two walls of guitar amplifiers. The audience moves freely within the loudspeaker space – between performers and amplifiers.
The electric guitar, combined with electronics, is conceived here as an instrument-complex, extending from the string through effects to the loudspeaker cone. Two guitars generate a continuous, massive sonic layer, which the electronics performer chops, modulates, and transforms into pulses. The result is an acoustic stroboscope:
accelerations and rhythmic displacements set the sound in motion while unsettling the perception of time and space.
The audience does not encounter the sound from a distance but from inside the instrument itself: sharing the resonating space with the performers. A C H K is less a traditional concert than a collective immersion into a pulsating field of sound that engages the ear as much as the body.
