The “Black Box” is a percussion Instrument that was developed for pieces of the “Compound” series. It combines various instrumental properties with aspects of a Foley Setup and possibilities for the connection to live-electronic systems.

Using a simple clamp mechanism any type of surface can be used on the box: Brass, Acryl, Cardboard, Styrofoam, Wood, etc.

Insinde the box, arbitrary objects can be attached. Using the moveable bottom lid, the box can also be used as a filter, by putting loudspeakers and/or microphones into the box.
