Compounds

2008 - 2014

The Compounds (2008–2015) are a series of pieces for instruments and electronics. At their basis lies an open network of material: recordings of everyday sounds, their transcriptions, and derivations developed from them. This material served as the starting point for solo and ensemble pieces, each highlighting different aspects.
Each piece of the series forms a sonic compound: a complex structure in which different sources enter into new connections. Each work creates its own constellation and sheds new light on the material. In this way, a field of relations, shifts, and overlays unfolds across the entire series.
